Sisters and Brothers:
This bulletin is a further update regarding the mediation and interest arbitration process. As all are aware, on October 9, 2024, Arbitrator William Kaplan was appointed to resolve the outstanding disputes with respect to collective bargaining.On April 28th, we met with Arbitrator Kaplan and further discussed the specifics of our proposals, and the reasons for our demands. While the meeting was productive it confirmed that we would be proceeding to arbitration.
On May 10th, the matter proceeded to formal arbitration with both groups, the RTCs and the RTEs, presenting oral submissions to supplement our previous submissions. While it was a long day, the hearings were completed without the need to continue on May 11th. As such, barring any further questions from the arbitrator, the mediation / arbitration process is complete, and we will await his award.

We would like to thank all those involved throughout the process including members allowing their information to be used, Local Officers who provided invaluable timely information, and the National Officers for their continued support.
